If we only knew at the time that it was happening, that our dreams were coming true. I think I really might be able to say that....pinch, pinch, but it feels more true than ever before.

My name is Terry Wright and I hail from the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Growing up in Texas in the shadow of my carpenter Dad, I knew that I didn’t want to build houses but rather build beautiful things that would make that house a home.

My training as a fine furniture builder began in junior high and senior high shop classes. My next training came from the “school of hard knocks” as my wife and I have restored two period craftsman homes. That really got me excited to seriously pursue the fine craft of building furniture. I applied and was accepted in the Distance Mastery Program at Northwest Woodworking Studio under the direction of Gary Rogowski in Portland, Oregon where I graduated in the summer of 2007.

My time with Gary has really shown me that with a deep commitment and many, many shop hours; I really can build beautiful things. I only have to look at my early pieces to see how much I have grown in my craft. I am looking forward to continuing to build museum quality furniture from my one-man shop in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Being the sole craftsman allows for high quality design, detail and execution of your custom piece. If you are looking for mass-produced furniture, Wright Wood Works is probably not what you are looking for. My company is founded and strives for individualized and unique works that are specially designed to the customer's needs and desires.
Wright Wood Works features solid wood construction of both domestic and exotic wood species that are hand selected for their beauty and uniqueness. This allows for design, aesthetics, and beauty to merge to create a stand-out creation. Each piece utilizes time-tested joinery that will not only last but will add it's own stamp of quality and elegance.
